Agreement to These Terms
LiT Podcast Academy LLC ("LiT Podcast Academy," "we," "us," or "our"), a division of LiT Podcast Studios, operates this website and delivers hands-on digital multimedia production training at our Southfield, Michigan studio. By using this website, submitting an inquiry or seat reservation, or enrolling in a program, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you are enrolling a student who is under 18, you agree to these terms on that student's behalf.
Use of This Website
You may use this website to learn about our programs and to contact us. You agree not to misuse it — including by submitting false information, attempting to disrupt or access it in an unauthorized way, copying its design or content for a competing service, or using it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend access if these terms are violated.
Programs, Schedules & Seats
Our Digital Multimedia Production Program runs for 16 weeks, meeting two days per week. The Day Course meets Monday and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Evening Course meets Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Each course is limited to 10 students.
Class dates, times, instructors, and studio availability may change. We will notify enrolled students promptly of changes and will work with students on make-up sessions where reasonable. A seat reservation submitted through this website places a hold on your place in a cohort; your enrollment is confirmed only when we have contacted you and the required deposit or first payment has been received.
Tuition, Payment Plans & Fees
Program tuition and the available payment options are listed on our Tuition page. Tuition covers instruction and supervised studio time. It does not cover personal equipment, software licenses, transportation, or optional materials, unless stated otherwise at the time of enrollment. A $25 application fee is due when you enroll and is non-refundable.
Payment plan amounts and due dates are agreed in writing at enrollment. Balances that become more than 14 days past due may pause a student's studio access until the balance is brought current. Prices listed on this website may change for future cohorts; they will not change for a cohort already in session.
Cancellations, Withdrawals & Refunds
You may cancel or withdraw from a program at any time by telling us in writing at the email address below.
- Cancel before your cohort begins: all tuition and deposit payments are refunded. The $25 application fee is non-refundable.
- Withdraw within the first two weeks of a cohort: payments are refunded on a pro-rata basis for sessions not yet delivered. The $25 application fee is non-refundable.
- After the second week of a cohort, tuition already paid is non-refundable.
- If we cancel or postpone a cohort, you may choose a full refund or a transfer to another cohort at no cost.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 30 days.
Studio Conduct & Safety
Students are responsible for the safety of themselves, others, and our equipment. Follow instructor direction and posted studio rules, do not use equipment you have not been trained on, and do not remove gear from the studio without permission. Harassment, discrimination, threats, property damage, or use of prohibited substances will result in immediate removal from the program. We may end enrollment for repeated unsafe or disruptive conduct; refunds in that case follow the schedule above at our discretion.
Recordings & Student Work
Students keep ownership of the original work they create. Students grant us permission to screen, stream, or publish program recordings, and to use short excerpts, stills, and student names and portraits for promotion of the academy — unless you tell us in writing not to. Photography and video are used in the studio; visitors and students may record only with the instructor's permission.
Our Materials & Your Content
The curriculum, handouts, logos, images, and website content belong to LiT Podcast Academy and may not be copied, sold, or redistributed without written permission. You keep ownership of information and files you send us, and you grant us permission to use them for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
Communications & Text Messages
When you provide a phone number, you opt in to calls and texts from us about our programs. Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Consent is never a condition of enrolling. Texting and calling details, and how we handle your data, are described in our Privacy Policy.
No Guarantee of Outcomes
Our programs teach practical production skills and build a portfolio. We make no guarantee of employment, contracts, clients, audience size, or earnings. Any results depend on the student's own effort and on circumstances outside our control.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LiT Podcast Academy LLC and LiT Podcast Studios are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim related to a program is limited to the amount actually paid by you for that program. We are not responsible for lost or damaged personal property left in the studio. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and material changes will be sent to enrolled students by email or text.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts covering Oakland County, Michigan.
